As a good water purifier, the product quality and the factors related to appearance and effect of PAC are directly related to the production process. Alkalinity, alumina content, impurity composition and PH value of PAC are three basic indexes of PAC.
1. Aluminum oxide content: Aluminum oxide content in Polyaluminium chloride is an index to measure the effective composition of products and has a certain relationship with the relative density of solution. In general, the higher the relative density, the higher the alumina content. The viscosity of PAC is related to the content of alumina and increases with the content of alumina. Under the same conditions and the same concentration of alumina, the viscosity of PAC is lower than that of Aluminum Sulfate, which is more conducive to transportation and use.
2. Alkalinity: The degree of hydroxylation or alkalization of a certain form of PAC is called alkalinity or alkalization. It is generally expressed in the molar ratio of aluminium hydroxide B=[OH]/[Al]. Alkalinity is one of the important indexes of PAC and is closely related to flocculation effect. The higher the concentration and salinity of raw water, the better the flocculation effect. In conclusion, the optimum alkalinity of PAC is 40~85% in the range of 86~10000mg/L turbidity of raw water. Many other properties of PAC are related to alkalinity.
3.pH value: PH value of polyaluminium chloride solution is also an important indicator. It represents the amount of free hydroxyl groups in solution. The pH value of PAC generally increases with increasing alkalinity, but there is no corresponding relationship between pH value and alkalinity for liquids of different compositions. The pH values of liquids with the same alkalinity concentration are different when the concentration is different.
Among them, the basicity is an important target. Generally, the basicity of polyaluminium chloride is 40-95% (adjustable basicity), improving the basicity of polyaluminium chloride products can greatly improve the economic benefits of production and operation. The alkalinity has improved from 65% to 92%, the cost of material produced can be reduced by 20% and the cost of application can be reduced by 40%. The higher the basicity, the higher the price and the lower the amount of PAC used. Now it is spray-dried PAC that can adjust the basicity of salts. The main choice is reaction of calcium powder and hydrochloric acid. Different polyaluminium chloride has different salinity due to different production processes and materials.
