Treatment of printing and dyeing ink wastewater with polyferric sulfate

Printing and dyeing ink wastewater is a kind of wastewater with high color, high organic matter and high fiber pollution. It produces wastewater of different properties depending on the dyes. Its alkali content is very high (PH value is usually around 14), which makes it more difficult to treat. Its wastewater is in a very stable emulsified state and can not be disposed of with inorganic flocculants. Such wastewater also contains a large number of expensive surfactants and dyes, so that its direct discharge is not only a pollution to the environment, but also a waste of energy.

Laboratory tests are required for the treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater with polyferric sulfate. Polyferric sulfate is dissolved and added into printing and dyeing wastewater. Polyferric sulfate is added according to the amount of added polyferric sulfate and the formation of precipitation as well as the characteristics of water quality treatment. Most of the time, proper amount of polyacrylamide can be added to the polyferric sulfate, which will produce better flocculation effect. Polymeric ferric sulfate with strong positive charge is easy to neutralize oil-contaminated ions with negative charge in wastewater by electro-neutralization and adsorption bridging, so that oil-contaminated ions form precipitation. The larger the molecular weight of the flocculant, the greater its elongation in water and the stronger its bridge-building capacity for adsorption, the better its flocculation performance and the smaller its dosage.

Polyferric sulfate is a new kind of agent. Compared with traditional polyaluminium chloride, it has wider PH range, better flocculation effect of sewage, low economic cost and low adaptability to low temperature environment. It has replaced polyaluminium chloride in some wastewater treatment. In the treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater, polyferric sulfate must be accurately dosed in order to be widely used, which is also the guarantee to ensure that polyferric sulfate has better effect.
