Polyaluminium chloride, also known as PAC, is abbreviated as polyaluminium. It is a new water treatment agent and is a cationic inorganic macromolecular flocculant consisting of polyhydroxy and polynuclear complexes.
. It is soluble in water and has strong bridging adsorptivity, accompanied by physical and chemical changes such as electrochemistry, condensation, adsorption and precipitation during the hydrolysis process, thus achieving the purpose of purification. It is mainly used for domestic drinking water, industrial water supply, oil field reinjection water, circulating cooling water and various sewage treatment. So how to use PAC correctly?
According to the quality of raw water, a small test should be done before use to obtain the dosage. Dissolve solid PAC to a concentration of 5-10% before use in order to be effective quickly. At the time of dissolution, PAC should be dissolved with tap water at room temperature. Raising the temperature can slightly promote the dissolution, but the water temperature should not exceed 50 degrees. Excessive water temperature will cause thermal degradation of PAC and affect the use effect. Add water to half of the volume of the dissolving tank. Open the agitator to stir. While stirring the water in the dissolving tank, slowly add solids so that they are evenly dispersed in the water. Do not let it form lumps. It is easy to block the pipeline and cause waste.
PAC requires sufficient stirring time to dissolve the powder fully. Inadequate PAC mixing or agglomeration may affect other service properties, and may even lead to deposition, blocking of piping and charging pumps. Add water to the specified position, adjust to the specified concentration, and continue stirring until PAC is completely dissolved. Because strong stirring for a long time will degrade its performance, it is recommended that the stirrer be dissolved at a speed of about 20-200 revolutions per minute. If the prepared solution is stored for a long time, its performance will gradually decrease depending on the water quality, so it can be used within two days after the solution is prepared.
Pay attention to observation and adjustment during operation. If alum in sedimentation tank is small, residual turbidity is large or TP is too low, the dosage is too small; If alum in sedimentation tank is large and turned up, residual turbidity is high or TP is close to or exceeds discharge index, the dosage is too large and should be adjusted properly.
