Polyaluminium chloride is produced from those materials

The raw materials for producing PAC mainly include: calcium aluminate powder, hydrochloric acid, bauxite, aluminium hydroxide, etc. Polyaluminium chloride is divided into different qualities, different qualities are used in different fields, and raw materials are also different.

For industrial grade PAC, its main raw material is hydrochloric acid and bauxite, which are heated, then added with calcium aluminate powder, filtered by pressure, and then turned into finished liquid and solid by drying method. It plays an outstanding role in sewage treatment.

Drinking water grade polyaluminium chloride is produced by heating hydrochloric acid and aluminium hydroxide, adding calcium aluminate powder and changing it into finished liquid through pressure filtration. It is primarily used in sewage treatment and drinking water treatment.

Pure white PAC is decolored into finished liquid by adding calcium aluminate powder through hydrochloric acid (synthetic acid) and aluminium hydroxide at elevated temperature and pressure filtration. It is mainly used in paper sizing agent, sugar decoloring detergent, tanning, medicine, cosmetics, fine casting and water treatment.

At present, the main raw materials used by most PAC plants are calcium aluminate powder, hydrochloric acid and bauxite. However, due to the excessive waste generated by these raw materials, which can not be treated and polluted heavily, and the waste produced by aluminium hydroxide as raw material is less, the proportion of aluminium hydroxide used in the production of polyaluminium chloride will gradually increase in the future.
