Ferric salt coagulant which is very useful in water treatment is polyferric sulfate. It not only has ideal coagulation and turbidity removal effect, but also has very good decoloration and phosphorus removal effect. It is widely used in power plant sewage treatment, galvanizing wastewater, printing and dyeing wastewater, coking wastewater, etc. How to use polyferric sulfate correctly?
Polyferric sulfate is the leading iron salt product in sewage treatment. Its advantages in ammonia nitrogen removal, total phosphorus removal and odor removal from municipal sewage are unmatched by aluminium salt coagulant. Its production cost is relatively low and problems such as waste residue, exhaust gas and wastewater are not found in the production process. In recent years, the market growth rate has continued to rise. In order to further standardize the coagulant market, improve production efficiency and product quality, higher standards will be put forward in the aspects of raw material selection, process parameters, detection indexes, etc.
Preparation of Polyferric Sulfate Solution: Generally, it is formulated into a concentration of 5%-20%. According to the condition of raw water, the required concentration can be diluted with water. Generally, it is used on the day of preparation. Tap water is needed for dispensing. Slightly sediment is normal.
Determination of dosage: different properties of raw water can be debugged on site or used as beaker coagulation test to obtain ideal service conditions and appropriate dosage to achieve ideal treatment effect.
1. Take 1L of raw water and determine its PH value.
2. Adjust its PH value to 6-9;
3.Extract prepared polyferric sulfate solution with 2ml syringe and add water sample under strong stirring until a large amount of alum is observed, then stir slowly to observe the precipitation. Note the amount of polyferric sulfate added to determine the amount of polyferric sulfate preliminarily;
4. Condensate wastewater with different PH values in beaker according to the above methods to determine the optimal PH value of medication.
5. If necessary, dosage under different agitation conditions to determine the best coagulation and agitation conditions.
6. According to the above steps, the optimum dosage and the condition of coagulation and agitation can be determined.
Adding proper amount of insoluble particulate matter or adsorbent to coagulant polyferric sulfate in water treatment application is more conducive to accelerating floc settlement and improving flocculation effect. With some cationic polymers and strong inorganic oxidizers, the New Coagulant after combination has better treatment effect for low temperature and low turbidity water, high turbidity water, municipal sewage, printing and dyeing wastewater, etc. Polyferric sulfate is also widely used in combination with PAM polyacrylamide to treat industrial wastewater.
