Polyferric sulfate is no stranger to everyone. It is a polymer coagulant widely used in water treatment industry in recent years, and more and more people use it to replace polyaluminum chloride. It has the characteristics of simple operation, low cost, stable treatment effect, high treatment efficiency, and can perform coagulation, phosphorus removal, fluoride removal, COD removal, decolorization and other functions in sewage treatment. So, where should polymeric ferric sulfate be added when it is used? It is said that it has been seen in primary sedimentation tank, biochemical outlet, aeration tank and other places. So, where should it be added to improve the treatment effect? What are the differences between these different feeding positions?
1. Primary sedimentation tank
It is not uncommon to add polyferric chloride to the primary sedimentation tank in high turbidity wastewater, which contains a lot of SS and non soluble substances (such as COD, colored groups, etc.). At this time, it mainly plays the role of removing the insoluble suspended solids, reducing the load of the subsequent treatment process, and improving the rate of reaching the standard.
2. Aeration tank
When it is added to the aeration tank or the pipeline between the aeration tank and the secondary sedimentation tank, it is mainly used as a coagulant for coagulation. The aeration tank is conducive to accelerating the dissolution rate of polymeric ferric sulfate and the reaction rate with phosphate, insoluble organic matter, suspended particles and colored groups in the secondary sedimentation tank, so as to make the reaction more adequate, save the coagulation time and improve the coagulation effect.
3. Biochemical water outlet
The residual phosphorus, COD and other substances in the biochemical effluent can be treated after the polymerized iron is added to the biochemical effluent, so that the phosphorus, COD and other substances in the wastewater can meet the sewage discharge standard.
In practical application, the feeding position can be determined according to its use function. Generally speaking, when polymeric ferric sulfate is used as a phosphorus remover, it can be added to the primary sedimentation tank if the phosphorus content is small, and it can be added to the secondary sedimentation tank before the inflow if the phosphorus concentration is high. When used as COD remover, it can be added to the secondary sedimentation tank or biochemical outlet. When turbidity and SS are removed by coagulation, they are added to the coagulation tank or the front end of the sedimentation tank inlet.
